This job opportunity is for Class A Delivery Drivers at Core-Mark who play an essential role in America's food supply chain. The position offers competitive pay starting at $29.50 per hour during training, with compensation shifting to a pay-per-stop, per-load, and per-mile basis after training. Top drivers have the potential to earn between $80,000 and $100,000 annually in their first year. The work schedule is Monday through Friday, providing a great work-life balance. The role involves delivering food and food service products safely and on schedule while representing Core-Mark's commitment to quality and customer service. Drivers will carry out safety inspections on their vehicles, ensure freight is secured, manage delivery paperwork, and maintain strong customer relationships. Job Requirements

  • Must have a valid CDL-A license
  • Be at least 21 years old
  • Meet state licensing and certification requirements
  • Maintain a clean motor vehicle report for 3 years
  • Pass drug and background screening
  • Pass road test
  • Obtain a DOT health card
  • Be physically capable of lifting and moving product cases using equipment
  • Able to follow DOT and company safety regulations

Job Qualifications

  • Valid CDL-A license
  • Must be 21 years of age or older
  • Meet all state licensing and certification requirements where applicable
  • Clean motor vehicle report for the past 3 years
  • Pass post offer drug test and criminal background check
  • Pass road test
  • Attain or possess a valid current DOT health card or be able to secure one
  • Ability to hand-lift and use equipment such as two-wheeler, lift gate for moving and stacking product cases
  • Experience handling products generally weighing between 10 and 90 pounds

Job Duties

  • Perform all required safety checks including pre and post trip inspections of tractor/truck and trailer according to DOT regulations
  • Inspect tractor/truck and trailer to ensure they meet company safety standards and take action as needed
  • Report all safety issues and repairs required
  • Follow all DOT regulations and company safe driving guidelines and policies
  • Inspect trailer for properly loaded and secured freight
  • Perform count check of items and check customer invoices of loaded products
  • Check and complete all required paperwork accurately and legibly
  • Move tractor to loading dock and attach preloaded trailer as needed
  • Drive to and deliver customer orders according to predetermined route schedules
  • Unload products from trailer and transport into designated customer storage areas
  • Perform damage control checks on items, scan, and contact supervisor about removing orders according to company policy
  • Verify delivery of items with customers and obtain proper signatures
  • Collect payments where required
  • Load customer returns and secure trailer doors
  • Ensure tractor, trailer, and freight are always locked and secured
  • Unload damaged goods and customer returns, complete necessary paperwork
  • Perform daily record of hours of service and enter logs in accordance with DOT, state, and company requirements
  • Perform general housekeeping duties in tractor, loading dock, and trailers
  • Secure all equipment and complete paperwork at end of shift
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
