Job Description
Accelerated Urgent Care is a reputable healthcare provider that opened its doors in 2012 in Bakersfield, California. Over the years, it has grown significantly, establishing a strong presence throughout California with 18 clinic locations including Fresno, Clovis, Chino, Lake Elsinore, Menifee, Wildomar, Murrieta, Temecula, and Los Angeles. The company is committed to expanding healthcare access across communities it serves by offering high-quality urgent care services. Accelerated Urgent Care has been recognized for its excellence, being voted as the Best Urgent Care in Bakersfield for eight consecutive years. This recognition highlights their dedication to delivering exceptional medical care while valuing their healthcare providers as their most important asset. With plans to open approximately five more clinics within the next two years, they continue to grow and expand their reach to meet increasing patient needs.
The role offered is for an Urgent Care Staff Physician based in Fresno, CA, with flexible employment types including full-time, part-time, and PRN options. The position offers an attractive compensation package with a salary of $150 per hour and a remarkable bonus of $100,000 for full-time hires. Additionally, there is a $60,000 annual stipend for medical directorship responsibilities. The physician will practice urgent care medicine primarily through twelve-hour shifts, providing comprehensive, full-spectrum care to a diverse patient population ranging from newborns to geriatrics. The work environment is designed to support efficient and high-quality care, featuring essential equipment like in-house point-of-care testing and X-ray services, with all X-rays reviewed by a board-certified radiologist to ensure accuracy. The practice uses an easy-to-use electronic medical record system called VelociDoc equipped with Dragon dictation, allowing physicians to document patient encounters efficiently and effectively.
This position involves managing four mid-level providers, ensuring that the team delivers exceptional patient care. Essential duties include treating patients with low-acuity conditions, performing routine urgent care procedures such as incision and drainage (I&Ds), toenail removal, and laceration repairs. Full-time physicians work 12 shifts per month along with two on-call shifts, while part-time options require a minimum of six shifts per month. The role is ideal for physicians seeking a dynamic and rewarding career in urgent care, combining hands-on patient care with leadership opportunities. The job offers the possibility of advancement to a medical directorship role, recognizing leadership and clinical expertise within the clinic.
