Comprising several institutions including the University of North Texas in Denton and Frisco, the University of North Texas at Dallas, UNT Dallas College of Law, and University of North Texas Health Fort Worth, the UNT System serves a diverse student body of over 49,000 students and employs more than 14,000 dedicated staff members. The UNT System is not only a leader in education but also fosters a community grounded in values such as integrity, respect, curiosity, and innovation. Their mission centers on transforming lives and creating economic opportunities through education while building a people-first culture where everyone feels valued and has access to resources that help them thrive.
Within this dynamic system, UNT Dining Services stands out as the largest self-supported campus dining operation in North Texas. Recognized nationally for its innovation and quality, UNT Dining Services manages five dining halls, over 20 retail locations, an upscale restaurant, a hydroponic garden, a scratch bakery, and full-service catering. It champions sustainable and healthy dining practices, including housing the nation’s first 100% vegan collegiate dining hall, Mean Greens Café, and pioneering allergen-free dining with Kitchen West, Texas's only university dining hall certified Free From™ the Big 8 allergens and gluten. The department also introduced Eagle Landing in 2021, an urban-style food hall featuring seven distinct restaurant concepts accessible through a single meal plan swipe. With accolades such as the Loyal E. Horton Award, Vegan Recipe Award, and a No. 2 ranking nationwide by Delish.com for best college food, UNT Dining Services leads the way in culinary excellence and research on sustainable food systems.
The Food Service Manager position for UNT Dining Services, specifically at Eagle Landing, is a pivotal leadership role responsible for overseeing all kitchen and dining operations within this innovative facility. The role demands a commitment to delivering a student-centered dining experience that emphasizes culinary quality, operational integrity, and exceptional customer service. The manager will lead teams to maintain consistent, high standards in food preparation, presentation, safety, and sanitation, in alignment with HACCP guidelines and university protocols. This professional will cultivate a welcoming atmosphere for students, faculty, staff, and guests, ensuring every visit to Eagle Landing is marked by professionalism, care, and satisfaction.
The position requires not only operational oversight but also active leadership in staff development, including training, evaluation, and fostering a collaborative team environment. Applicants joining this dedicated team will be part of a forward-thinking dining service that is committed to excellence, sustainability, and community engagement in a fast-paced campus setting.
