Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in related field and three years of experience in food service management or equivalent combination of education, training, or experience
- ServSafe certification or ability to obtain within six months
- ability to follow detailed oral and written instructions
- ability to direct and manage work of others
- knowledge of food preparation methods and large-scale food service
- understanding of health hazards in food preparation and necessary precautions
- capability to maintain accurate records
- ability to apply mathematical concepts
- knowledge of menu planning and food values
- capability to train personnel in equipment use and food service methods
- knowledge of safety and security precautions
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in food service management
- demonstrated leadership experience in high-volume culinary operations
- comprehensive knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and HACCP standards
- familiarity with hydroponic farming systems or sustainable agriculture
- strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
- ability to lead, train, and motivate teams in fast-paced environments
Job Duties
- Oversees food quality, customer service, daily culinary operations, and overall management of dining services including hydroponic garden and sustainable food systems
- demonstrates leadership in dining and food service management including planning, budgeting, staffing, and evaluating operations
- proficiently trains, supervises, and assesses culinary and farm staff performance
- delivers exceptional dining experiences centered on culinary excellence and friendly service
- fosters a collaborative team culture promoting communication and engagement
- ensures adherence to university policies, health codes, HACCP, and safety standards
- manages workforce planning, inventory control, and equipment maintenance
