Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field and three years of experience in food service management or equivalent combination of education, training, or experience
  • ServSafe certification or ability to obtain within six months
  • ability to follow detailed oral and written instructions
  • ability to direct and manage work of others
  • knowledge of food preparation methods and large-scale food service
  • understanding of health hazards in food preparation and necessary precautions
  • capability to maintain accurate records
  • ability to apply mathematical concepts
  • knowledge of menu planning and food values
  • capability to train personnel in equipment use and food service methods
  • knowledge of safety and security precautions

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in food service management
  • demonstrated leadership experience in high-volume culinary operations
  • comprehensive knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and HACCP standards
  • familiarity with hydroponic farming systems or sustainable agriculture
  • strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • ability to lead, train, and motivate teams in fast-paced environments

Job Duties

  • Oversees food quality, customer service, daily culinary operations, and overall management of dining services including hydroponic garden and sustainable food systems
  • demonstrates leadership in dining and food service management including planning, budgeting, staffing, and evaluating operations
  • proficiently trains, supervises, and assesses culinary and farm staff performance
  • delivers exceptional dining experiences centered on culinary excellence and friendly service
  • fosters a collaborative team culture promoting communication and engagement
  • ensures adherence to university policies, health codes, HACCP, and safety standards
  • manages workforce planning, inventory control, and equipment maintenance
