Unit Support Assistant - Housekeeping

Our search is on for a Unit Support Assistant, an essential role within the environmental services team of a healthcare facility. This role specifically supports the maintenance and cleanliness of hospital units, ensuring a safe, sanitary, and orderly environment for patients, staff, and visitors. In this position, you will perform a variety of cleaning and maintenance tasks in designated hospital units or areas. Daily duties include cleaning according to approved infection control procedures, maintaining patient equipment, and assisting with the safe transport of patients. You are also responsible for picking up and delivering specimens, items, and supplies as needed, demonstrating ownership and pride in your assigned zone and other designated areas. You will be accountable not only for the physical cleaning tasks but also for upholding professional behavior, teamwork, and effective communication, all aligned with the Service Quality Agreement (SQA) standards. This role requires someone who works well under pressure, has good attention to detail, and possesses a strong work ethic. The experience of working in environmental services, especially in healthcare, hospitality, or contract cleaning, is essential to ensure the effectiveness and efficiency of the services provided. A high school diploma or its equivalent is also required unless substituted by a year of relevant experience.
