Job Description
The role of the Unit Receptionist (UR) at Montage Health is integral to the smooth operation of patient scheduling and administrative workflows within a fast-paced healthcare setting. Reporting directly to the department office supervisor, the unit receptionist is responsible for coordinating appointments, verifying insurance coverage, and assisting with pre-registration procedures which are critical for the department’s efficiency and patient satisfaction. This position requires meticulous attention to detail in managing incoming physician orders, confirming therapy schedules, and providing clear and accurate communication to patients regarding their upcoming visits. The UR also plays a pivotal role in ensuring insurance authorizations are obtained for workers' compensation and other state or county programs, thereby facilitating uninterrupted patient care and adherence to regulatory standards.
In addition to administrative and scheduling duties, this position demands proficiency with technology, including data entry through specialized computer systems and maintaining accurate patient records. The role calls for an individual who can operate Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Outlook, and Excel effectively to support the daily functions of the department. The unit receptionist must exhibit exemplary customer service skills and maintain a positive professional demeanor, even in demanding situations, to promote an empathetic and supportive atmosphere for patients and staff alike.
