The Emergency Department Unit Clerk position is a vital role responsible for handling a variety of clerical and administrative tasks that directly contribute to the efficiency and effectiveness of emergency care. This role requires a professional who can uphold patient privacy, dignity, confidentiality, and respect patients' rights at all times. This position is dynamic and may require running errands and completing various other department-related tasks as needed. Candidates must be detail-oriented, efficient in data entry, skilled in medical terminology, and capable of multitasking in a fast-paced environment. Basic life support (BLS) certification is also required within the first three months of employment, underscoring the safety-conscious culture of the healthcare facility.
