The Retail Sales Associate role at the Sherman Oaks location in California is an integral part of the store's team, responsible for ensuring customers receive world-class service throughout their shopping journey. This position is full-time or part-time, with hourly pay starting at $18.00. The offered salary is competitive and considers several factors such as experience, education, certifications, and skills. As a Retail Sales Associate, you will report directly to the Store Manager and act as a customer service specialist who actively listens to customer needs, recommends products that best suit those needs, provides detailed information about merchandise, and effectively closes sales.
This role requires a person who can consistently meet and exceed sales goals while maintaining the store's visual and operational standards, including cleanliness and product presentation. Utilizing the U.N.I.Q.L.O service standard and fundamental principles, the associate engages with customers by saying six standard phrases designed to enhance the shopping experience. Beyond direct sales, retail associates are expected to support fitting room standards, act as cashiers when needed, process incoming shipments, and ensure all merchandise is available on the sales floor in complete size runs.
The Retail Sales Associate also plays a pivotal role in store maintenance by assisting with stockroom organization, identifying and resolving store issues alongside management, and adhering to all company policies and procedures. This position often requires physical stamina, including standing for long periods, maneuvering around the sales floor and stockroom, and lifting objects weighing at least 25 pounds. Availability is critical, with expectations for full-time associates to work an average of 32 or more hours per week, including weekends, though religious exemptions and limited availability restrictions are considered. Part-time availability requires a minimum of 12 hours per week with similar scheduling flexibility.
