The role of Server at Hyatt Vacation Ownership is an essential customer-facing position within the food and beverage team. Available on an hourly salary of $16.50, this position requires individuals who are enthusiastic about hospitality, able to interact effectively with guests, and committed to providing seamless dining experiences. Servers at Hyatt Vacation Ownership take on responsibilities that involve preparing station set-ups, ensuring that all tables and dining areas are meticulously prepared and maintained throughout service. They perform vital side duties such as polishing glassware and silverware, rolling up silverware, and assisting in other foundational service tasks directed by the Food & Beverage leadership team.

Servers are tasked with accurately taking and entering food and beverage orders into the point-of-sale system, ensuring that all guest requests are fulfilled promptly and with professional courtesy. They engage guests in suggestive selling to enhance the dining experience while adhering to service timing standards designed for optimal flow. Part of the role includes the pre-busing of tables throughout the meal service and final clearing of tables once guests complete their experience, maintaining cleanliness and order in the dining environment at all times.

Moreover, the server ensures the accuracy of guest bills, handles payments securely, and diligently ensures guest satisfaction through attentive service, promptly addressing any issues that arise during the dining experience by initiating appropriate recovery actions. Knowledge of alcohol service regulations is crucial to this role, with servers upholding all federal, state, and local laws concerning the service of alcoholic beverages. This position requires flexibility in scheduling, including availability on weekends and holidays, essential to support the operational demands of a busy hospitality setting.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 year experience as a food server
  • ability to speak, read, write, and understand English
  • ability to work weekends, holidays, and flexible shifts

  • physical ability to perform duties including standing and carrying items

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Ensures station and table set-ups are complete, replenished, and ready for service
