Job Description
Union League Liberty Hill is a prestigious private club renowned for its steadfast commitment to excellence in hospitality and fine dining. Nestled in an environment that combines tradition with sophistication, the club serves a diverse membership base, offering an array of exclusive culinary and recreational experiences. Union League Liberty Hill prides itself on maintaining a culture where cuisine is a central pillar of the member experience, reflecting its dedication to quality, professionalism, and culinary innovation. The club’s banquet operations boast annual food and beverage revenues exceeding $7 million, marking it as a significant player within the upscale hospitality industry. This financial success underscores the importance the club places on its culinary offerings, especially in banquet and event settings where top-tier service is paramount.
The club is currently seeking a Banquet Chef to lead and elevate all banquet culinary operations. This role demands a culinary-driven leader who excels at managing high-volume banquet productions, including luxury weddings, member galas, and golf outings, at a scale that frequently caters to upwards of 1,000 guests. The Banquet Chef will report directly to the Executive Chef, Denny Santiago, and Executive Sous Chef, Jim Gallagher, ensuring close collaboration with the broader culinary leadership team. The ideal candidate is passionate about maintaining ingredient integrity, consistent execution, and elevating dishes through precise technique and creativity. This position not only involves the creation and refinement of menu offerings that showcase seasonality and professionalism but also demands expertise in high-volume event execution while maintaining restaurant-quality standards.
In addition to overseeing food production and presentation, the Banquet Chef will play a critical leadership role by training and developing a large banquet culinary team, fostering a positive and disciplined working environment rooted in culinary pride. The role requires impeccable organizational abilities to manage complex event timelines, adapt to dynamic changes typical within a hospitality setting, and maintain stringent sanitation and safety standards. Operational acumen is vital, as the Banquet Chef must collaborate with purchasing directors on food cost control, waste reduction, and scheduling logistics to ensure profitability without compromising quality. Beyond managing day-to-day banquet services, the Banquet Chef contributes directly to an exceptional member and guest experience by partnering across departments to seamless event execution.
This role offers a competitive salary commensurate with experience and a comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, and vision insurance; life and disability coverage; flexible spending accounts; and robust paid time off including parental leave. Joining Union League Liberty Hill as the Banquet Chef is a unique opportunity to become part of an organization where culinary excellence is not just encouraged but foundational to the club’s identity. The position is perfect for a driven culinary professional seeking growth within a premier private club environment that values expertise, creativity, and team leadership.
