The role of Unified Communications Specialist at GDIT is a critical position focused on ensuring secure, reliable, and advanced communication infrastructure that supports the safety and security of the nation. The specialist will be responsible for the architecture, configuration, and ongoing maintenance of worldwide voice, video, and chat infrastructures across physical and virtual platforms. This role requires a deep understanding of Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) technologies and experience with critical communication systems and software such as Cisco Unified Communications Manager, Cisco Meeting Server, Unified Contact Center, and Microsoft Skype for Business. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in TCP/IP and DHCP troubleshooting, as well as experience in managing virtualized applications.

This position is based onsite in Annapolis Junction, Maryland, catering to the unique security needs of government communications with a Top Secret SCI clearance and polygraph required. The role offers a salary range typically between $107,744 and $143,750, depending on experience, geographic location, and contract specifics. Job Requirements

  • 8 plus years of related experience
  • Hold a Current 8570 certification
  • Must have Top Secret SCI clearance with polygraph
  • Must be a U S Citizen

  • Ability to monitor and process service desk tickets
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Proficient in managing unified communications infrastructure
  • Ability to work in demanding environments

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Responsible for the architecture configuration and maintenance of worldwide voice video and chat physical and virtual infrastructure
  • Installation of operating system and security patches
  • Assess the applicability of vulnerabilities and maintain security compliance of the voice video and chat infrastructure
  • Provide support for customer scheduled and unplanned outages regardless of scale and impact
  • Serve as the support for Tier 1 and Tier 2 technicians across all communication platforms
  • Monitor and process Capabilities Service Desk tickets
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient communication service delivery
