Job Description
Rocky Top Catering is a renowned catering company dedicated to providing exceptional food service experiences, particularly within the University of North Carolina's football stadium. Recognized for partnering with UNC, Rocky Top Catering delivers high-quality culinary services tailored to meet the needs of student-athletes and fans alike throughout various stadium events. As a key partner, the company emphasizes professionalism, quality, and nutritional excellence in its food preparation and service, thus playing an integral role in enhancing the game-day experience and daily athletic support at UNC.
This rewarding opportunity is centered around the Football Center Kitchen (FBC), which is strategically located inside the UNC football stadium. The FBC is the culinary hub responsible for preparing and serving meals to UNC Football players during the week to support their nutritional and performance goals. Under the expert guidance of Executive Chef Josh Grimes, who brings NFL expertise as a former Executive Chef for the New England Patriots, the team focuses on delivering meals that balance taste and performance nutrition, carefully crafted in collaboration with a nutritionist.
Rocky Top Catering is currently seeking dependable, detail-oriented, and professional Cooks to join the Football Center team. These individuals will contribute to both daily food production and the successful execution of stadium events, including home game days. This position is designed for back-of-house professionals who thrive in a fast-paced, event-driven environment and take pride in hospitality, teamwork, organization, and meticulous food preparation. The role offers part-time employment with the potential to expand to full-time hours during busy seasons, making it a flexible opportunity for culinary professionals seeking experience in a dynamic sports catering setting.
Working as a Cook at the Football Center, you will be part of a dedicated team focused on upholding the highest standards of food safety, quality, and presentation. The role involves following established recipes and prep lists, managing kitchen organization, and participating actively in event pack-outs and on-site food execution. Communication and collaboration with front-of-house teams, event managers, and fellow kitchen staff are crucial for seamless event operations, ensuring that every meal meets the nutritional and quality expectations set forth by the company and UNC Athletics. Rocky Top Catering values growth and advancement within the company, offering competitive hourly pay up to $25 based on experience and availability, yearly performance-based raises, and numerous opportunities for career progression in the hospitality and catering industry.
