As part of the UNC Athletic Department, this catering team is integral in delivering impeccable hospitality experiences to fans, donors, VIP guests, and athletes across a range of sporting events including football, basketball, baseball, and Olympic sports. The company prides itself on operational excellence, guest service, and strict adherence to health and safety standards, ensuring that every event, whether large-scale game day operations or intimate hospitality functions, is executed flawlessly. Known for its commitment to quality and professionalism, UNC Chapel Hill Catering operates in dynamic venues including stadiums, arenas, and hospitality spaces on and off campus. This environment requires a highly organized, customer-focused team who can handle the fast-paced and often high-volume nature of sporting events with agility and grace.

The Catering Event Manager role at UNC Chapel Hill Catering is a critical leadership position responsible for the successful execution of all catering operations tied to UNC Chapel Hill Athletic events. This part-time position, offering an hourly wage ranging from $20 to $25 based on experience and qualifications, demands a leader who excels in both strategic planning and hands-on management during events. The position requires excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with athletic department representatives, clients, vendors, and event staff. Problem-solving under pressure and maintaining operational efficiency within budget goals are crucial competencies for the successful candidate. Additionally, the Catering Event Manager is responsible for training new staff to uphold the organization’s service standards and ensures compliance during every event moment. Beyond the immediate event responsibilities, the role also involves coordinating post-event cleanup and inventory management to restore venues to pre-event conditions.

Flexibility in work hours is necessary as this part-time role requires availability during nights, weekends, holidays, and extended shifts aligned with the UNC Athletics event calendar.
