Job Description

Einstein Bros. Bagels is a renowned bakery and food service brand that has been baking fresh bagels daily since 1995. The company prides itself on being more than just a breakfast spot; it is a neighborhood staple committed to spreading joy and creating memorable experiences for customers. With a strong emphasis on work-life balance, Einstein Bros. Bagels ensures its team members can enjoy personal milestones and family events by maintaining store hours that close at 2 pm, promoting a healthy and rewarding work environment. The brand's dedication to quality, community, and employee well-being has made it a favorite destination for bagel lovers nationwide. The company is headquartered in Brookfield, Wisconsin, and operates numerous locations where they offer freshly baked bagels and breakfast items along with catering services.

The role of a General Manager at Einstein Bros. Bagels is integral to the success of each store. This position entails overseeing all aspects of store operations with a hands-on, ownership mentality. The General Manager ensures the store runs smoothly from opening to closing, including managing the team, maintaining high-quality customer service, handling administrative tasks, and driving sales and profitability. The daily routine involves early mornings starting at 4 am to prepare for the day’s first bake and ensuring the bakery is fully operational for breakfast and lunch service. You will be responsible for audit readiness, executing catering and mobile orders, and maintaining exceptional customer satisfaction throughout the day. The role also includes responsibilities such as staff scheduling, inventory management, and closing procedures, which are performed after customer service hours to ensure efficiency and accuracy.

Candidates can expect comprehensive training over five weeks to prepare them adequately for the role. Successful General Managers typically have 1-3 years of prior managerial experience in the restaurant industry, with proven leadership skills that motivate and inspire their teams. Expertise in managing food costs, labor targets, and P&L analysis is highly valued, alongside the ability to recruit and develop team members effectively. This position suits individuals who thrive in a fast-paced, customer-facing environment and want to grow their careers while making a positive impact on customers’ mornings. The compensation for this position ranges competitively between $61,000 and $65,000 annually, with opportunities for quarterly bonuses based on performance. Additional benefits include comprehensive health coverage, 401(k) with company match, paid time off, and career development opportunities, making this an attractive role for motivated hospitality professionals.
