The organization operates Superior Dining, an all-you-care-to-eat residential dining center, and a Food Court featuring five unique concepts including Subs & Wraps, Burgers, Pizza, Burritos, and Grab & Go. Additionally, they manage Northern Shores Coffee Shop, two dining kiosks, a full-service restaurant, and offer catering services for campus events. Their commitment extends beyond delicious food to encompass sustainability efforts and providing exceptional service to foster an inclusive, enjoyable dining experience for the entire campus community.

UMD Dining Services is currently seeking an Operations Manager to join their team for a 40-hour per week role with a 10-month appointment. This role offers a competitive wage ranging from $29.00 to $32.00 per hour, depending on education, qualifications, and experience. Working onsite at the UMD campus, this position provides a unique opportunity to contribute meaningfully to the operational excellence of campus dining services while enjoying a work schedule aligned with the academic calendar — work the school year and relax all summer.

As an Operations Manager, you will be instrumental in ensuring a superior dining experience for the campus community. You will coordinate staffing for busy, dynamic environments and lead efforts to train, mentor, and develop your team. A key aspect of the role is to innovate and streamline operations to enhance efficiency and service delivery. Communication is vital as you will be expected to engage effectively with team members and management alike, promoting a safe and supportive workplace that prioritizes both physical and mental well-being. Your leadership will uphold the university's commitment to inclusion and diversity, creating an environment where everyone feels welcome and respected.

This full-time role offers comprehensive benefits that notably include paid vacation, sick days, holidays, excellent health care, and tuition reimbursement programs. Moreover, the position features participation in the MN State Retirement System pension plan and opportunities for professional growth through various development programs. The University of Minnesota is an equal opportunity employer valuing diversity and inclusion, encouraging applications from individuals of all backgrounds and experiences.
