Job Description

StudyPoint is a well-established tutoring company that has been dedicated to providing personalized, one-on-one academic support to students across the United States since 1999. With over two decades of experience, StudyPoint has developed an impressive suite of tools and resources that have enabled more than 55,000 students to achieve their academic and admissions goals. Their mission centers around delivering customized tutoring experiences across a wide range of subjects, especially for elementary and middle school students. The company has earned numerous accolades for its remarkable growth and has been recognized for its engaging, progressive work environment, reflecting a strong commitment to both student success and employee satisfaction.

The role at StudyPoint focuses on in-home tutoring for students in elementary and middle school in subjects such as math, language arts, science, and social studies. Tutors are expected to be engaging and energetic instructors who create a positive and safe learning environment tailored to individual student needs. This is a part-time position with prime tutoring hours typically outside of school hours, including afternoons, evenings, and weekends. Tutors enjoy flexible scheduling options and have the autonomy to choose their service areas within a wide range of towns in the Chicago metropolitan area. The compensation range for this role is competitive, offering between $30.00 to $35.00 per hour, reflecting the company’s recognition of the value tutors bring.

The role emphasizes being an employee rather than an independent contractor, which means tutors receive paid training, have access to dedicated support managers and mentors, and qualify for referral bonuses when they help grow the tutoring community. Additionally, tutors are not bound by non-compete clauses, allowing them to continue private tutoring or work with other organizations simultaneously. StudyPoint tutors possess a bachelor's degree, a background that includes at least two years of teaching or tutoring experience, preferably with K-8 students, and confidence in teaching fundamental reading, writing, and math skills relevant to elementary and middle grades. Reliable transportation is essential as tutors travel to students' homes across various locations within the greater Chicago area.

StudyPoint’s culture is rooted in strong values, inclusivity, and the professional development of its staff. The company strives to create a supportive environment not only for the students but also for the tutors, encouraging them to grow professionally while contributing to meaningful student outcomes. This long-standing dedication to educational excellence and care makes StudyPoint a respected leader in the tutoring industry and an excellent employer for education professionals looking to make a positive impact in their communities.
