Job Description

Park Hyatt Chicago stands as a modern luxury landmark nestled in the prestigious Gold Coast, delivering an intimate, residential-style experience just steps away from the city’s top cultural hotspots and shopping destinations. Renowned for exceptional customer service and repeatedly recognized by the Forbes Travel Guide, this five-star hotel offers 182 elegantly designed rooms and suites. Each accommodation is thoughtfully appointed with curated art, spa-inspired bathrooms, and captivating views of the cityscape or nearby lake. With a focus on understated luxury, every aspect of the hotel—from award-winning dining venues to the tranquil spa and meticulously maintained public areas—exemplifies a commitment to personalized care and genuine hospitality.

Joining the Park Hyatt Chicago team means becoming part of a world-class hospitality environment that curates memorable guest experiences through dedicated service excellence. The property’s ethos revolves around creating serene, sophisticated atmospheres that guests cherish and seek to revisit. Excellence is not just an operational priority but a core value interwoven into the daily fabric of every team member’s responsibilities.

The Turndown Attendant role is vital to maintaining the hotel’s luxury standards. This position is geared towards individuals who are detail-oriented and passionate about hospitality, joining a distinguished housekeeping team. The primary responsibility involves providing impeccable turndown service by preparing guest rooms for a restful and comfortable night. Tasks include adjusting bed covers, fulfilling guest preferences such as replenishing ice buckets, restocking amenities and linens, and readying sofa bed mattresses.

In addition to turndown service, this role extends to performing typical room attendant duties in both occupied and check-out rooms. This means thoroughly cleaning, dusting, and sanitizing all areas including bedrooms, living rooms, and bathrooms following established procedures. The Turndown Attendant also acts as a guest service ambassador, anticipating guest needs and personalizing service appropriately. Familiarity with the hotel’s amenities, services, and the surrounding local attractions is essential to respond accurately to guest inquiries, thus enhancing their overall stay.

Supporting the broader housekeeping operations by assisting with various tasks as needed ensures the smooth workflow and upholds the high standard of cleanliness and presentation expected at such a prestigious property. The role demands efficiency, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to maintaining the refined environment for which Park Hyatt Chicago is distinguished. This opportunity is ideal for hospitality professionals who value warm, discreet service and who thrive in a collaborative, service-focused team setting.

The position offers an hourly wage of $26.50, with eligibility for overtime and premium pay under certain conditions. It primarily involves afternoon shifts but requires flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays in alignment with hotel business needs. Park Hyatt Chicago embraces a culture of care connecting its global team and guests through authentic and meaningful interactions. The hotel supports personal and professional growth, inviting candidates at any career stage to join and flourish within its inclusive environment.

Benefits for this role include health and pension plans managed through the Local 1 Union, monthly fitness reimbursements, qualified parking and transit programs, as well as paid time off including vacation, holidays, and sick days. Additional perks comprise discounted and complimentary room nights, complimentary meals in the colleague dining room, and amenities such as an on-site bike rack for team members. Park Hyatt Chicago is committed to equal opportunity employment, fostering a welcoming space that respects diversity and inclusion in all its forms. This role is an excellent gateway to elevate one’s career in luxury hospitality and contribute to the legacy of excellence that defines Park Hyatt Chicago.
