The role available is that of a Guest Room Attendant or Housekeeper, responsible for cleaning and maintaining guest rooms to meet and exceed the established cleanliness standards. In this role, the housekeeper will greet guests warmly, fostering a welcoming environment from the outset of any interaction. They will be responsible for cleaning guest rooms efficiently within a set time frame, which includes sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, and vacuuming all surfaces. Changing bed linens and replenishing towels and amenities are essential to maintaining the guest room’s comfort and hygiene.

Additionally, the housekeeper will clean and polish furniture and fixtures, dusting walls, furniture, and equipment to ensure a spotless appearance. The position requires vigilance in reporting any maintenance needs to management to maintain the quality and safety of guest rooms. Adherence to lost and found policies for any guest items left behind is crucial, reflecting the company’s dedication to guest service.

The housekeepers are also expected to follow safety protocols rigorously, including wearing protective equipment and abiding by Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards. Flexibility is valued, as individuals may perform additional duties such as house person or lobby attendant roles during peak periods or staffing shortages.

Job Duties

  • Greet guests upon interaction with a warm and friendly greeting
  • clean guest rooms according to standards within allotted time frame by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming
  • change bed linens and replace towels and other amenities
  • clean and polish furniture and fixtures
  • dust furniture, walls or equipment
  • notify managers concerning the need for repairs in guest rooms
  • process guest items left in rooms according to lost and found policy
  • follow sustainability guidelines and practices related to HHM's EarthView program
  • practice safe work habits, wear protective safety equipment and follow MSDS and OSHA standards
  • perform house person and lobby attendant duties when short staffed or during peak periods
  • be aware of guest satisfaction scores and work toward increasing departmental and overall guest satisfaction
  • ensure overall guest satisfaction
  • perform other duties as requested by management
