The Turndown Attendant role at Starwood Hotels is an essential component of delivering the exceptional guest experience that the brand is known for. This position provides evening turndown service to occupied guest rooms, ensuring that each space is comfortable, welcoming, and prepared for a restful night. The Turndown Attendant’s responsibilities focus on meticulous attention to detail, thoughtful presentation, and upholding the high standards of cleanliness and service excellence associated with the Starwood brand.
In this role, the Turndown Attendant will perform a variety of tasks such as refreshing rooms by removing used towels and linens, restocking amenities, preparing beds, adjusting lighting, and maintaining a calm ambiance that contributes to guest comfort. Additionally, this position may involve performing full room attendant duties including dusting, vacuuming, cleaning bathrooms, straightening furniture and appliances, and managing supply carts to ensure operational efficiency throughout the shift.
Communicating effectively with guests and team members, responding promptly and professionally to requests, reporting maintenance issues, and embodying the company’s mission and brand values are critical aspects of the role. This job also requires physical stamina as it includes pushing loaded carts and handling manual tasks throughout extended shifts.

Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in housekeeping or related hospitality role preferred
- Ability to stand, sit, kneel, or walk for extended periods across an entire work shift
- Ability to lift, carry, push, pull, or move up to 50 pounds occasionally, 30 pounds frequently and 25 pounds constantly
- Ability to follow directions and work in a team environment
- Flexibility to work varying schedules including holidays and weekends
- Ability to maintain professional appearance and demeanor
- Commitment to uphold company safety, security, and sanitation policies
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of proprietary and guest information
- Strong communication skills
Job Qualifications
- Previous related guest service experience dealing directly with the public and acquired general knowledge of basic customer service skills
- Passion for cleanliness and attention to detail
- Ability to communicate and comprehend English language sufficient to understand information such as labels and instructions and answer basic guest requests and effectively communicate both verbally and written with all levels of guests and team members
- Ability to learn and work with technology including devices such as computers, iPods, and iPads
- Excellent time management skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- An extremely honest person with a high level of integrity
- Good interpersonal skills
- Should possess and display high levels of energy
- Ability to push and pull a loaded housekeeping cart and other work-related equipment over sloping and uneven surfaces
- Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping
Job Duties
- Perform evening turndown service in assigned guest rooms according to established standards
- Maintain a set number of occupied rooms to be serviced per shift
- Enter guest rooms following proper access procedures and verify vacancy before entry
- Remove used towels, linens, and terry and replace with clean items from the linen closet
- Make beds and prepare sleeping areas, including closing drapes, reducing lighting, and creating a calm evening ambiance
- Restock guest amenities such as toiletries, stationery, and other in-room supplies as needed
- Wipe down wet surfaces and clean bathrooms to ensure cleanliness and presentation
