The True TX BBQ Restaurant Culinary Manager role is a vital leadership position within H-E-B's growing restaurant business, specifically located in the Lubbock store. This role centers around ensuring top-tier customer service while managing day-to-day restaurant operations. The Culinary Manager supervises the kitchen and menu execution, taking responsibility for training, scheduling, and developing the culinary staff, referred to as Partners in H-E-B’s terminology. Job Requirements
- Culinary degree
- 1+ years equivalent combination of professional culinary training or experience
- Completion of internal School of Retail Management
- Experience leading in a complex work and team environment
- Experience in ordering, inventory maintenance, shrink control, and customer service
- Certified Food Safety Manager or AST Certification
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends, holidays, opening and closing shifts
- Ability to execute high-volume production
- Ability to maintain efficient operations and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions
- Advanced customer service and communication skills
- Ability to supervise, train and cross-train staff
- Ability to frequently stand, walk, pivot
- occasionally sit, bend, stoop, squat, crouch, kneel, climb stairs
- Ability to lift 80 lbs and manage with team lift
- Ability to function in a fast-paced retail environment
- Ability to work extended hours and rotating schedules
- Ability to safely maneuver around moving mechanical parts
- Ability to be frequently exposed to fumes, airborne particles, toxic or caustic materials
- Ability to demonstrate fine motor movements and physical stamina required in kitchen environment
Job Qualifications
- Culinary degree or equivalent professional culinary training or experience
- Leadership experience
- Advanced communication skills
- Advanced customer service skills
- Completion of internal School of Retail Management (SORM)
- Experience leading in a complex team environment
- Experience in ordering, inventory maintenance, shrink control, and customer service
- Certified Food Safety Manager or AST Certified
- Proficiency in H-E-B systems preferred (XPTR, DSD, IMS, CICS2, POS, Excel)
- Advanced organizational skills
- Ability to train and cross-train staff
