Job Description

H-E-B is one of the largest independently owned food retailers in the United States, operating over 400 stores across Texas and Mexico. With annual sales exceeding 31 billion dollars, H-E-B has established itself as a leader in the retail food industry, known for its commitment to customer satisfaction and innovative retail concepts. Expanding beyond traditional grocery retail, H-E-B has ventured into the restaurant and bar sector, creating a unique neighborhood dining experience that combines exceptional food quality with outstanding customer service. The company prides itself on being partner-owned, meaning that its employees, referred to as Partners, are empowered to drive innovation, growth, and success across all facets of the business. This ownership culture fosters a strong commitment to excellence and community engagement, positioning H-E-B as a beloved brand in the regions it serves.

The role of Restaurant Culinary Manager is a crucial leadership position within H-E-B's restaurant operations in the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex. This full-time role requires a blend of culinary expertise, team management skills, and business acumen. As a Restaurant Culinary Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the culinary team to ensure the highest standards of food preparation and customer service are met. This includes managing kitchen operations, scheduling staff, training and developing team members, and maintaining rigorous food safety and sanitation standards. You will have direct supervisory responsibilities for Partners, promoting a culture of hospitality and urgency while managing the execution of menu items and maintaining the restaurant's financial performance through budget management and food cost control. Additionally, the role involves hands-on duties such as food purchasing, inventory management, and quality control to ensure consistent food presentation and taste that meets H-E-B’s exacting standards.

This position requires a passionate and entrepreneurial spirit, someone ready to take ownership and contribute to the success of the business. Once eligible, Restaurant Culinary Managers have the opportunity to become owners in the company, emphasizing the importance of dedication, hard work, and focus. The ideal candidate will hold a culinary degree or possess a comparable combination of professional training and experience, coupled with leadership skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment. Advanced communication and organizational abilities are crucial, as well as proficiency in relevant systems and software that support retail and restaurant operations. This role demands flexibility in working hours, including weekends, holidays, and varying shifts, to ensure smooth and efficient restaurant functions.

At H-E-B, the Restaurant Culinary Manager role is more than just a job; it is an opportunity to be part of a dynamic team that values people, excellence, and innovation in the food service industry. If you have a heart for people, a head for business, and a passion for results, this position offers a rewarding career path in a respected, partner-owned company dedicated to delivering quality food experiences. Join H-E-B and take the next step in your culinary and leadership career within an environment that supports growth and values your contributions.
