Job Description
Boeing Commercial Airplanes, a leading aerospace and defense company headquartered in Seattle, Washington, pioneers innovation in commercial aviation with a commitment to quality, safety, and sustainability. Boeing's extensive operations in the Puget Sound region encompass multiple locations including Seattle, Algona, Everett, Puyallup, Auburn, and Renton. This global company is dedicated to delivering excellence through advanced manufacturing, robust engineering, and integrated logistics functions that support aircraft production and delivery. With a workforce driven by collaboration and inclusion, Boeing offers a workplace culture that fosters professional growth and respects diversity, providing employees opportunities to develop their careers in a challenging yet rewarding environment.
Boeing Commercial Airplanes is excited to recruit qualified candidates for the role of Truck Driver within its Puget Sound operations. The Truck Driver position is 100% onsite and critical to the company’s logistics and transportation processes. The role involves the responsible handling of packages including delicate and sensitive materials such as aircraft parts and luggage. The Truck Driver ensures that all cargo is transported with the utmost care and adheres to stringent safety and quality standards. Primary responsibilities include manually picking, sorting, loading, and unloading items as large as twenty feet and weighing up to 35 pounds. Candidates must demonstrate proficiency in safe vehicle operation, manual transmission driving (13-speed), and load securement techniques using various tools like ropes, straps, and chains.
The successful applicant will be part of a dedicated team that emphasizes communication, safety compliance, and operational excellence. You will be required to work a flexible schedule, including variable shifts and mandatory weekend overtime, across diverse locations within the Puget Sound corridor. This position requires maintaining physical fitness to perform frequent lifting, reaching, and other physical tasks while operating around potentially hazardous environments that include sharp tools, varying noise levels, and industrial chemicals.
Essential qualifications include a valid Washington State Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) without a manual transmission restriction, minimum five years driving experience, and endorsements such as Hazmat, Tanker, Doubles/Triples, and Passenger. Additionally, you must comply with Boeing’s Conflict of Interest assessment and meet Export Control compliance stipulations requiring you to be a U.S. person as defined by government regulations. The position offers a competitive hourly pay starting at $33.00 with potential earnings up to $51.25 per hour based on collective bargaining terms, along with a sign-on bonus of $4,000 for eligible candidates.
Boeing’s total rewards package encompasses extensive benefits including health insurance, retirement plans, and tuition assistance to support your personal and professional life. The company maintains a drug-free workplace policy with random drug and alcohol tests in compliance with Department of Transportation requirements. Candidates must reside locally or be willing to relocate at their own expense. This role offers an exciting opportunity to be part of a world-class aerospace company where your contributions directly enhance the transportation and delivery of critical aviation components.
