This immediate opening is for full-time Local Class B Delivery Truck Drivers based in Clackamas, Oregon. This role offers an hourly wage of $30.42 with overtime pay available after 40 hours each week, providing a competitive compensation package for qualified candidates. The position is local with the benefit of being home daily, allowing for a better work-life balance. Drivers will have the opportunity to operate late model trucks leased from Penske Truck Leasing, which are equipped with best-in-class features focused on safety and comfort, including inward and outward facing in-cab cameras.
As a Local Class B Delivery Truck Driver, your primary responsibility will be to safely and efficiently deliver groceries from warehouses to various grocery stores. This includes loading and unloading crates, adhering to schedules, and providing excellent customer service that reflects Penske's high standards. The role functions as a floater position, meaning schedules will vary, often involving dispatch between 10 pm and 11 pm, and requires adaptability as operations run 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. This flexibility offers consistent employment opportunities, but also demands the ability to maintain alertness and professionalism at all times.
Penske provides a comprehensive benefits package to its associates and their families to ensure they remain healthy, secure, and supported. This includes paid vacation and holidays from day one, generous retirement benefits, top-tier medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as short and long-term disability coverage, and life and AD&D insurance. Additional perks include company-provided uniforms and safety footwear, an employee discount program, a driver referral bonus program rewarding up to $5000 per referral, a safety incentive program, and recognition opportunities through the Premier Driver Recognition Program. These benefits are designed to foster a rewarding and supportive work environment, encouraging longevity and job satisfaction among drivers.
