We are currently seeking Full-time Local Class A CDL Truck Drivers to join our team at Penske Logistics in Jersey City, NJ. This role offers an average annual salary of $91,000 and the opportunity to work a local route with home daily. Drivers will operate late model trucks leased from Penske Truck Leasing that feature best-in-class specifications for comfort and are equipped with inward and outward facing in-cab cameras to enhance safety. The typical schedule includes morning dispatch hours from 12AM to 8AM, Monday through Friday, providing a predictable and work-life balanced routine.
As a Class A CDL Truck Driver for Penske, you will be responsible for making local deliveries to stores, including those in New York City, averaging 1 to 4 stops per route. Maintaining a professional and courteous demeanor while interacting with customers is key to this role, as you represent both Penske and the clients we serve. Job Requirements
- Follow all federal and/or state laws, regulations, and/or agency rules, standards and guidelines
- Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job
- English language proficiency
- Work the required schedule and location
- Complete Penske employment application
- Submit to background check including past employment, education, and criminal history
- Pass drug screening
- Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safely
- Accept responsibility for own safety and the safety of others
- Ability to see and hear including close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
- Ability to frequently move, stand, walk, sit, use hands, and reach with arms
- Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 lbs and occasionally up to 100 lbs
- Legally operate a motor vehicle and safely enter/exit vehicle and rear cargo area
Job Qualifications
- Valid Class A CDL
- Applicants must be domiciled in the U.S. and licensed in their state of residence
- Ability to obtain or currently hold a non-excepted interstate DOT medical card
- 1 year of documented tractor-trailer experience in the last 3 years or 2 years in the last 5 years
- 3 years DMV/MVR record with two or fewer moving violations or accidents
- Compliance with federal and state laws and regulations
- English language proficiency
- Regular, predictable, full attendance
