We are currently seeking full-time Local Class A CDL Truck Drivers to join our Jersey City, NJ team. This position offers an average annual salary of $91,000 with a Monday through Friday schedule and dispatch shifts in the afternoon or evening hours (12 PM to 8 PM). Drivers will have the advantage of driving late model Penske Truck Leasing vehicles, which are equipped with best-in-class specifications designed for driver comfort and safety, including inward and outward-facing in-cab cameras.
As a Local Class A CDL Truck Driver, you will play a vital role in delivering products safely and on time to various store locations, predominantly within the New York City area. Routes typically include between one to four stops per day, allowing drivers significant time at home daily. You will be expected to maintain a professional and courteous demeanor when interacting with customers, representing both Penske and its clients with pride and integrity. The role demands adherence to federal and state regulations, ensuring safe and legal operation of commercial vehicles while maintaining a high standard of safety for yourself and others.

Job Requirements
- Follow all federal and/or state laws regulations and/or agency rules standards and guidelines
- regular predictable full attendance is an essential function of the job
- work the required schedule work at the specific location required complete Penske employment application submit to a background investigation to include past employment education and criminal history and drug screening required
- this position is regulated by the Department of Transportation or designated as safety sensitive by the company and the ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner is required
- associates must have the ability to accept responsibility for their own safety as well as the safety of others
Job Qualifications
- Valid Class A CDL required
- applicants must be domiciled in the U.S. and licensed in their state of residence
- currently hold or have the ability to obtain a non-excepted interstate DOT medical card
- one year of documented tractor-trailer experience in the last three years or two years in the last five years
- three years DMV/MVR record with two or fewer moving violations or accidents
- English language proficiency
- ability to work required schedule and complete background investigation and drug screening
Job Duties
- Making local deliveries to stores including locations in New York City
- averaging 1 to 4 stops per route
- maintaining professional and courteous demeanor when interacting with customers
- driving late model Penske Truck Leasing trucks equipped with in-cab cameras for safety
- adhering to all federal and state laws and company safety policies
- completing required documentation and maintaining accurate delivery records
- performing vehicle inspections and reporting any maintenance needs
