Penske Logistics is currently seeking full-time Local Class A CDL Truck Drivers for their Jersey City, New Jersey location. This exciting opportunity offers an average annual salary of $91,000 with consistent home daily schedules and working primarily with late model, Penske Truck Leasing vehicles built for driver comfort and equipped with safety technology including inward and outward facing in-cab cameras. These vehicles feature best-in-class specifications designed to enhance driver ergonomics and safety during transit.

In this role, drivers will be responsible for making deliveries to various store locations, including high-demand areas such as New York City, with routes typically involving 1 to 4 stops per shift. Drivers will maintain a professional and courteous demeanor while interacting with customers and are expected to uphold the highest standards of service representing both Penske and their client’s brand identity. The operation schedule generally includes a 5-day work week with an optional 6th day, offering afternoon and evening dispatch options to accommodate driver preferences.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • valid Class A CDL license
  • 1 year of tractor-trailer driving experience
  • ability to pass background investigation and drug screening
  • ability to legally operate a motor vehicle
  • regular predictable full attendance
  • compliance with federal DOT regulations
  • physical ability to lift up to 50lbs regularly and up to 100lbs occasionally
  • ability to enter and exit vehicle and cargo area frequently

Job Qualifications

  • Valid Class A CDL required
  • applicants must be domiciled in the U.S. and licensed in their state of residence
  • currently hold or ability to obtain a non-excepted interstate DOT medical card
  • 1 year of documented tractor-trailer experience in the last 3 years or 2 years in the last 5 years
  • 3 years DMV/MVR record with two or fewer moving violations or accidents
  • follow all federal and/or state laws and regulations
  • English language proficiency required
  • ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner
