With a strong presence across North America, South America, Europe, and Asia, Penske Logistics is dedicated to providing efficient, reliable, and innovative services that drive business success by increasing visibility and reducing supply chain costs. The company fosters a culture of safety, professionalism, and employee development, making it an employer of choice for professionals in the transportation sector.
This immediate opening is for full-time Local Class A CDL Truck Drivers based at the South Windsor, Connecticut location. Penske offers competitive compensation with an average annual salary of $92,000 along with a $3,000 annual safety bonus and a generous driver referral bonus program that can pay up to $5,000 per referral. This role is designed for drivers who prioritize safety, reliability, and consistent schedules, as the position involves local, home-daily deliveries, offering a strong work-life balance.
In this role, you will drive late-model Penske Truck Leasing trucks equipped with best-in-class specifications designed for driver comfort and safety. The vehicles feature both inward and outward-facing in-cab cameras to ensure the highest safety standards. The primary responsibility of the position is making dock-to-dock deliveries of palletized grocery products. Unlike other driving roles, pallet breakdowns are not required, simplifying the delivery process. The job schedule offers multiple shifts, including a favorable 11 pm start time, and there is an additional $200 incentive for picking up an extra day.
Penske's comprehensive benefits package begins on day one and includes paid vacation and holidays, generous retirement benefits, excellent healthcare coverage including medical, dental, and vision, as well as short and long-term disability, life and AD&D insurance. Employees also receive company-provided uniforms and safety footwear, access to an employee discount program, and participation in the safety incentive program and premier driver recognition program. The company emphasizes a supportive and engaging work environment that encourages driver safety and rewards commitment.
Why join Penske? As a CDL Class A Truck Driver at Penske, you become part of a professional team that safely delivers products on time while representing some of the world’s leading brands. The company is known for its reliable equipment, strong management support, clear communication, and outstanding safety record. Drivers are paid every Friday and enjoy consistent home-daily schedules, a rare advantage in the trucking industry. Penske also offers extensive training opportunities and the possibility of relocation to different cities across the nation, facilitating career growth and mobility.
This role requires candidates domiciled in the U.S. with a valid Class A CDL licensed in their state of residence. Applicants must have a minimum of one year of documented tractor-trailer driving experience within the last three years or two years within the last five years, along with a clean driving record over the past three years (two or fewer moving violations or accidents). Candidates must comply with all federal and state laws and regulations, maintain regular attendance, and demonstrate proficiency in English as required by federal law. Background checks, drug screening, and physical ability to perform essential job functions, including lifting and motor vehicle operation, are mandatory.
