Immediate employment opportunity is available for Full-time Local Class A CDL Truck Drivers at the Penske Logistics location in Des Moines, Iowa. This role offers an attractive average annual salary of $105,000 and features additional incentives such as a $3,000 annual safety bonus and a driver referral bonus program, which rewards drivers with up to $5,000 per referral. Employees benefit from the use of late-model trucks leased from Penske Truck Leasing, which are crafted with best-in-class specifications for driver comfort and safety. Each truck is equipped with both inward and outward-facing in-cab cameras to enhance safety measures.

As a Local Class A CDL Truck Driver, you will primarily deliver palletized groceries to local stores, with no pallet breakdowns required. The position offers a schedule from Tuesday through Saturday, beginning at 6 pm, and importantly, drivers return home daily, supporting a strong work-life balance. The role demands adherence to federal and state laws, safe driving practices, and maintaining a clean driving record. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • valid Class A CDL
  • ability to obtain non-excepted interstate DOT medical card
  • 1 year documented tractor-trailer experience in last 3 years or 2 years in last 5 years
  • clean driving record with two or fewer moving violations or accidents in past 3 years
  • comply with federal and state regulations
  • English language proficiency
  • complete background check and drug screening
  • ability to work Tuesday through Saturday 6pm shift
  • ability to operate motor vehicle safely and enter/exit vehicle and cargo area
  • ability to lift up to 100lbs
