This job opening is for part-time Local Class A Delivery Truck Drivers at Penske Logistics. The position offers a competitive pay rate of $30 per hour and an average of 30 hours per week. Drivers will operate late-model trucks leased from Penske Truck Leasing, equipped with best-in-class specifications designed for driver comfort as well as inward and outward facing in-cab cameras to enhance safety. This role is strictly local with drivers returning home daily, making it ideal for those seeking work-life balance while maintaining a professional trucking career.

In this role, drivers will be responsible for delivering and unloading crates of food products to grocery store locations, handling approximately 40 stops per week. Candidates should be ready to maintain a courteous and professional demeanor while interacting with customers, representing both Penske and the clients they serve. The work schedule includes dispatches at noon or 8:30 PM as needed, tailored to part-time availability.

This role requires compliance with federal and state regulations, including holding a valid Class A CDL, proper medical certification, and a clean driving record. Candidates will undergo background checks, drug screening, and must meet physical and mental demands necessary for the job, including the ability to lift heavy loads, operate vehicles safely, and maintain alertness during driving shifts.

Job Requirements

  • Valid Class A CDL
  • Domiciled in the U.S. and licensed in state of residence
  • Possess or able to obtain non-excepted interstate DOT medical card
  • 1-2 years documented tractor-trailer experience
  • Clean 3-year DMV/MVR record with minimal violations
  • Compliance with federal and state transportation laws
  • Full, predictable attendance
  • English proficiency
  • Agree to background check and drug screening
  • Physically able to perform heavy lifting up to 100 lbs
  • Ability to legally operate a motor vehicle and safely enter/exit vehicles
  • Commitment to safety and alertness

Job Qualifications

  • Valid Class A CDL required
  • Applicants must be domiciled in the U.S. and licensed in their state of residence
  • Currently hold or ability to obtain a non-excepted interstate DOT medical card required
  • 1 year of documented tractor-trailer experience in the last 3 years or 2 years in the last 5 years
  • 3 years DMV/MVR record with two or fewer moving violations or accidents
  • Follow all federal and state laws, regulations, and agency rules
  • Regular, predictable, full attendance
  • English language proficiency required
  • Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safely
  • Ability to accept responsibility for personal and others' safety

Job Duties
