This job opportunity is for full-time Class A CDL Truck Drivers who are ready to advance their careers with a stable and reputable nationwide company. The role offers an average annual salary of $77,000, along with a generous $2,000 annual safety bonus and the possibility of earning up to $5,000 for each driver referral through the company’s referral bonus program. Drivers will operate late-model Penske truck leasing vehicles equipped with best-in-class specifications designed for comfort and safety, including inward and outward-facing in-cab cameras.
As a Class A CDL Truck Driver at Penske, your primary responsibility will be to relay trailers between Lockport, Illinois and Lincoln, Nebraska, typically requiring about two layovers per week. The schedule consists of a four-day work week with a start time of 5pm and Saturdays off, promoting a healthy work-life balance. Penske emphasizes professionalism and courteous interaction with customers, as drivers represent both the company and its clients.
The role requires adherence to all federal, state, and agency regulations, with safety and alertness being paramount throughout the job. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- One to two years of tractor-trailer driving experience
- Ability to pass DOT medical examination
- Clean driving record with minimal violations
- Must be domiciled and licensed in the United States
- English language proficiency
- Ability to work a 4-day, 5pm to late-night schedule
- Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting up to 100 lbs
- Successful completion of background check and drug screening
Job Qualifications
- Valid Class A CDL required
- Applicants must be domiciled in the U.S. and licensed in their state of residence
- Currently hold, or ability to obtain, a non-excepted interstate DOT medical card required
- One year of documented tractor-trailer experience in the last three years or two years in the last five years
- Three years DMV/MVR record with two or fewer moving violations or accidents
- Ability to follow federal, state, and company regulations
- English language proficiency
- Ability to maintain regular, predictable, full attendance
- Pass background investigation and drug screening
- Ability to work safely and remain alert at all times
Job Duties
- Relay trailers from Lockport, IL to Lincoln, NE
- Manage approximately two layovers per week
- Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor with customers
- Operate late-model Penske Truck Leasing trucks with advanced safety features
- Comply with all federal and state transportation laws and company safety policies
- Work a four-day schedule with a consistent 5pm start time and Saturdays off
