The current opportunity is for full-time Local Class A CDL Truck Drivers to join Penske's Enfield, Connecticut location. This role offers a competitive average annual salary of $85,000 and provides the advantage of staying local with home daily schedules. Drivers will operate late model Penske Truck Leasing vehicles with best-in-class specs designed for comfort and efficiency. The position requires a Hazmat endorsement within 30 days of employment, and drivers will handle multi-store deliveries, unloading trailers using pallet jacks. Schedules are Monday through Friday with dispatch occurring between 10 pm and 1 am. Job Requirements

  • Valid Class A CDL
  • Hazmat endorsement required within 30 days of hire
  • Domiciled in the U.S. and licensed in state of residence
  • Hold or obtain a non-excepted interstate DOT medical card
  • 1 year documented tractor-trailer experience in last 3 years or 2 years in last 5 years
  • Clean DMV/MVR record with two or fewer moving violations or accidents in past 3 years
  • Comply with federal and state laws and regulations
  • Regular predictable full attendance
  • English language proficiency
  • Pass background check and drug screening
  • Ability to maintain constant alertness and safe work conduct
  • Ability to legally operate motor vehicle and enter/exit vehicle and cargo area
  • Physical ability to lift and move up to 50lbs regularly and 100lbs occasionally

Job Qualifications

  • Valid Class A CDL required

  • Currently hold or ability to obtain a non-excepted interstate DOT medical card
  • 1 year of documented tractor-trailer experience in the last 3 years or 2 years in the last 5 years
  • 3 years DMV/MVR record with two or fewer moving violations or accidents
  • Follow all federal and state laws regulations and agency rules standards and guidelines
  • English language proficiency required
  • Ability to work the required schedule and location
  • Pass background investigation and drug screening
  • Ability to work safely and maintain alertness
