The Driver role at Core-Mark is a crucial position responsible for the safe and timely delivery of food and food-related products. This role primarily involves operating tractor trailers or straight trucks on various routes including intrastate, interstate, local, shuttle, and overnight routes. Drivers are tasked with ensuring compliance with Department of Transportation regulations, conducting thorough safety inspections, and maintaining clear, accurate paperwork. The position offers competitive biweekly pay starting at $3153, with the potential to earn $82,000 or more annually, depending on meeting minimum weekly requirements. The work schedule is Monday through Friday, typically for 4-5 days per week, with no weekend work required, promoting a balanced work-life dynamic.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Valid CDL-A license
  • Minimum age of 21 years
  • 0-6 months commercial tractor/trailer experience
  • Clean driving record for past three years
  • Ability to pass drug and road tests
  • Meet state licensing and certification requirements
  • Possession or ability to obtain DOT Health Card
  • Physical ability to lift and move freight weighing between 10 and 90 pounds with equipment

Job Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED or equivalent
  • 0-6 months commercial tractor/trailer experience
  • Valid CDL-A license
  • Must be 21 years or older
  • Meet all state licensing and certification requirements where applicable
  • Clean Motor Vehicle Report for past 3 years
  • Pass post offer drug test and road test
  • Attain or have valid current DOT Health Card or be able to secure new DOT Health Card
  • Able to hand-lift and utilize equipment like two-wheeler and lift gate to move product cases and freight ranging from 10 to 90 pounds

Job Duties

  • Perform all required safety checks including pre/post trip inspections of tractor/truck and trailer according to DOT regulations
  • Inspect tractor/truck and trailer to ensure they meet company safety standards and report safety issues
  • Follow all DOT regulations and company safe driving guidelines and policies
  • Inspect trailer for properly loaded and secured freight
  • Perform count check of items and verify customer invoices
  • Complete all required paperwork associated with freight accurately and legibly
  • Move tractor to loading dock and attach preloaded trailer as needed
  • Drive and deliver customer orders according to predetermined route schedules
  • Unload products from trailer and transport items to designated customer storage areas
  • Perform damage control checks on items, scan, and report issues to supervisor
  • Verify delivery of items with customer and obtain proper signatures
  • Collect money where required
  • Load customer returns onto trailer and secure trailer doors
  • Ensure tractor, trailer, and freight are appropriately locked and secured
  • Unload damaged goods and customer returns, complete necessary paperwork
  • Unload all equipment, materials, and remove trash from trailers
  • Complete daily hours of service records and enter logs per Federal DOT, state, and company requirements
  • Perform general housekeeping duties in tractor and loading dock areas
  • Secure all equipment and complete necessary paperwork at shift end
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
