Job Description

Core-Mark, a Performance Food Group Company, is a distinguished player in the food distribution industry, recognized as part of a Fortune 150 company. With a strong presence across the United States and Canada, Core-Mark specializes in providing fresh and broad-line solutions to the convenience retail market. The company prides itself on a rich heritage of delivering superior products and services, which has enabled it to generate revenues exceeding $23 billion. This success is grounded in Core-Mark's commitment to empowering its customers, employees, and communities, fostering a collaborative and inclusive work environment that values respect, recognition, and reward.

Core-Mark's distribution centers play a vital role in maintaining the supply chain for a broad spectrum of food and beverage products, ensuring timely and safe delivery to various retail outlets. The company offers a comprehensive array of products, programs, and services tailored to meet the dynamic needs of its customers. Among its commitments is maintaining a safe, inclusive, and supportive workplace, promoting professional growth and development through various educational assistance programs and career advancement opportunities.

The Driver position at Core-Mark is central to the company’s mission to efficiently distribute goods and sustain the flow of food products essential to communities. This is a professional driving role requiring the operation of tractor trailers or straight trucks to transport food and related products across intrastate and interstate routes, including local, shuttle, overnight, and drive and drop assignments. Drivers work primarily Monday through Friday with no weekend shifts, offering a consistent and predictable schedule. With potential earnings exceeding $1575 weekly, this role is designed to reward dedication and adherence to safety and operational protocols.

In this role, the driver is responsible not only for the safe and timely delivery of goods but also for maintaining regulatory compliance with the Department of Transportation (DOT) standards and for conducting thorough vehicle inspections before and after trips. The position demands strong communication skills to interact professionally with customers, vendors, and colleagues, ensuring smooth operational flow and resolving queries efficiently. Drivers also perform critical tasks such as loading, unloading, securing freight, handling damaged goods, and completing accurate delivery documentation. Additional responsibilities include managing cash or check collections when necessary and ensuring all equipment and trailers are properly secured at the end of the shift.

Core-Mark emphasizes a culture of safety, professionalism, and teamwork. Drivers are expected to adhere strictly to company policies and federal safety regulations, report any maintenance or safety concerns promptly, and actively contribute to maintaining a clean and organized working environment. The role requires physical stamina as drivers may need to hand-lift and use equipment like lift gates and two-wheelers to move product cases generally weighing between 10 to 90 pounds depending on the location.

The company provides comprehensive benefits starting from day one, including health and wellness plans, employee stock purchase options, 401K with employer matching, paid time off, and educational assistance to support continuous learning and career growth. Core-Mark is committed to equal employment opportunities and fosters a workplace free from discrimination, supporting diversity and inclusion across all levels of the organization. This driver opportunity represents an essential role within a growing, industry-leading company dedicated to delivering quality service and maintaining the highest standards of operational excellence.
