Job Description

Core-Mark, a Performance Food Group Company, is a leading distributor in the convenience retail industry, operating as part of a Fortune 150 company with over $23 billion in revenue. The company specializes in providing fresh and broad-line solutions to convenience stores across the United States and Canada. Core-Mark's extensive distribution network and commitment to empowering customers, employees, and communities have established it as a trusted industry leader. As a company that values diversity, inclusion, and equal employment opportunities, Core-Mark promotes a safe and inclusive working environment characterized by a culture of rewards, recognition, and respect.

The Driver role at Core-Mark is a crucial position that supports the company’s operations in delivering essential food and related products efficiently and safely. Drivers are responsible for operating tractor trailers or straight trucks on intrastate and interstate local, shuttle, overnight, and drive-and-drop routes. The primary goal is to ensure timely deliveries to customers while adhering to Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and maintaining compliance with all safety standards. Drivers are expected to perform detailed vehicle inspections, secure freight properly, and handle various delivery and customer interaction tasks professionally.

This full-time position offers competitive pay, with drivers earning $1,575 or more weekly, and a favorable Monday to Friday work schedule with no weekend shifts. The role includes substantial benefits such as day-one health and wellness coverage, an employee stock purchase plan, 401K employer matching, education assistance, paid time off, and more. Drivers play a vital part in backing America’s food distribution system by ensuring that products reach stores and customers in optimal condition, thus supporting the broader supply chain from warehouse to retail.

Besides driving responsibilities, this position requires interaction with customers, vendors, and co-workers with professionalism and courtesy. The Driver is a team member who contributes to the organization's efficiency by performing assigned duties thoroughly and diligently, including paperwork management, freight count checks, damage control, collecting payments if needed, and maintaining tractor-trailer cleanliness and security.

The ideal candidate will hold a valid CDL-A license, be at least 21 years old, and maintain a clean Motor Vehicle Report. The role demands physical capability, such as the ability to hand-lift and operate equipment like two-wheelers and lift gates, to manage freight typically weighing between 10 and 90 pounds. The position also requires the ability to pass DOT health and safety tests, maintain accurate hours of service logs, and comply with all relevant regulatory and company policies.

Core-Mark prioritizes employee growth and development by offering education assistance and fostering a supportive work environment that embraces diversity and equal opportunity. Candidates who join Core-Mark are afforded the chance to work with a reputable, growth-oriented company that rewards dedication and professionalism. By becoming a Core-Mark Driver, employees are integral to the company’s mission of delivering essential goods safely, efficiently, and reliably every day.
