Core-Mark, a Performance Food Group Company, is a leading distributor in the convenience retail industry with a strong presence across the U.S. and Canada. As part of a Fortune 150 company, Core-Mark has established itself as an industry leader by providing innovative and comprehensive fresh and broad-line solutions to customers. With over $23 billion in revenue, the company continues to grow by emphasizing empowerment for its customers, employees, and communities alike. This dedication to service and growth reflects in the company’s approach to fostering a safe and inclusive work environment where rewards, recognition, and respect are part of everyday culture.
The role of a Driver, Hourly CDL-A at Core-Mark is pivotal to the efficient functioning of the country’s food supply chain. Delivery drivers play a critical role in ensuring that food and food service products reach customers reliably and on time, maintaining the quality and condition of goods throughout transit. The position involves operating tractor trailers or straight trucks for intrastate and interstate routes, including local, over-the-road, shuttle, and overnight drive and drop deliveries. Drivers represent Core-Mark by embodying professionalism and customer service excellence, directly interacting with customers, vendors, and co-workers.
Drivers must comply with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and company safety policies, performing essential safety checks before and after trips to ensure all vehicles meet safety standards. They are responsible not only for the physical delivery of products but also for managing accurate documentation, invoicing, and customer signatures. The role demands attention to detail in load inspections, damage control, and secure handling of products and equipment. Drivers also participate in housekeeping duties in and around their vehicles and loading docks to maintain cleanliness and safety.
Core-Mark offers competitive pay with drivers earning an average weekly pay of $1,346, subject to meeting minimum weekly requirements discussed during the interview. Shifts typically occur Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday with some dispatch times as early as 2:00 AM. Alongside competitive compensation, Core-Mark provides comprehensive benefits from day one including health and wellness coverage, employee stock purchase plans, 401K employer matching, education assistance, and paid time off.
This role is ideal for individuals with a valid CDL-A license, at least one year of tractor-trailer driving experience, and an ability to handle physical demands such as lifting and operating loading equipment. Drivers must have a clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) for the past three years and meet all state licensing and certification requirements. Passing a road test and maintaining a DOT health card are also required. Core-Mark is an equal employment opportunity employer committed to diversity and inclusion, offering a safe, supportive, and rewarding work environment for its employees.
