Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- At least 12 months of commercial tractor/trailer driving experience
- Valid CDL-A license
- Minimum age of 21 years
- Compliance with all state licensing and certification requirements
- Clean motor vehicle report for the last 3 years
- Must pass post offer drug test and road test
- Possession of or ability to obtain a valid DOT health card
- Physical ability to hand-lift and operate equipment for moving freight
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma/GED or equivalent
- 12+ months commercial tractor/trailer experience
- Valid CDL-A with minimum age of 21
- Meet all state licensing and/or certification requirements where applicable
- Clean motor vehicle report (MVR) for past 3 years
- Pass post offer drug test and road test
- Attain or have valid current DOT health card or able to secure new DOT health card
- Ability to hand-lift and use two-wheeler, lift gate, and other equipment to move and stack product cases/freight of varying sizes and weights
Job Duties
- Perform all required safety checks including pre/post trip inspections of tractor/truck and trailer according to Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations
- Report all safety issues and repairs required and follow DOT regulations and company safe driving policies
- Inspect trailer for properly loaded and secured freight
- Perform count check of items and check customer invoices of products loaded
- Complete all required paperwork associated with freight accurately and legibly
- Move tractor to loading dock and attach preloaded trailer as needed
- Drive to and deliver customer orders according to predetermined route delivery schedule
- Unload products from trailer and transport items into designated customer storage areas
- Perform damage control checks on items, scan and contact supervisor about removing orders according to company policy
- Verify delivery of items with customer and obtain proper signatures, collect money where required
- Load customer returns onto trailer and secure trailer doors
- Ensure tractor, trailer, and freight are appropriately locked and secured
- Unload damaged goods and customer returns and complete necessary paperwork
- Perform general housekeeping duties in tractor, loading dock area, and keep trailers clear and clean
- Complete daily record of hours of service and enter log in accordance with Federal DOT, state, and company requirements
- Perform other related duties as assigned
