Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum 12 months commercial tractor/trailer driving experience
- Valid CDL-A license
- Minimum age of 21 years
- Meet all state licensing and certification requirements
- Clean motor vehicle report for the last 3 years
- Pass post offer drug test and road test
- Hold or able to secure DOT health card
- Able to lift and move freight using equipment such as two-wheelers or lift gates
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED or equivalent
- 12+ months commercial tractor/trailer experience
- Valid CDL-A license
- Must be 21+ years of age
- Meet all state licensing and certification requirements where applicable
- Clean motor vehicle report for past 3 years
- Pass post offer drug test and pass road test
- Attain or have valid current DOT health card or be able to secure new DOT health card
- Able to hand-lift and utilize two-wheeler, lift gate, or other equipment to move and/or stack product cases/freight of varying sizes and weights
- Preferred 1+ years foodservice distribution or delivery and/or relevant experience
- Onboard computer and electronic log system experience such as PeopleNet
- Hand-held point of delivery scanning system experience such as POD
- Customer service-related work experience
Job Duties
- Performs all required safety checks including pre/post trip inspections of tractor/truck and trailer according to Department of Transportation regulations
- Reports all safety issues and/or repairs required following DOT regulations and company safe driving guidelines
- Immediately reports all safety hazards and inspects trailer for properly loaded and secured freight
- Performs count check of items and checks customer invoices of products loaded
- Checks and completes all required paperwork associated with freight accurately and legibly
- Moves tractor to loading dock and attaches preloaded trailer as needed
- Drives to and delivers customer orders according to predetermined route delivery schedule
- Unloads products from trailer and transports items into designated customer storage areas
- Performs damage control checks on items, scans, and contacts supervisor about removing orders according to company policy
- Verifies delivery of items with customers and obtains proper signatures, collects money where required
- Ensures tractor, trailer, and freight are appropriately locked and secured
- Unloads damaged goods and customer returns, completes necessary paperwork
- Completes daily record of hours of service in accordance with Federal DOT, state, and company requirements
- Performs general housekeeping duties in tractor, loading dock area and keeps trailers clear and clean
- Performs other related duties as assigned
