Job Description
Penske Logistics is a leading provider in the logistics industry, known for engineering state-of-the-art transportation, warehousing, and freight management solutions. Operating across North America, South America, Europe, and Asia, the company partners with market-leading businesses to enhance supply chain visibility and reduce costs effectively. As a part of its commitment to excellence, Penske Logistics emphasizes innovation, safety, and customer satisfaction, establishing itself as a preferred employer in the logistics and transportation sector.
This particular opportunity is for full-time local Class A CDL truck drivers, offering an annual average salary of $80,000. The role promises a balanced work-life schedule, operating Monday through Friday, with a start time of 7:00 PM, allowing drivers to be home daily. Drivers will operate dedicated routes, specifically handling linehaul trips to Boyce, LA and returning to Coppell, TX. Equipment provided by Penske includes late-model Trucks from Penske Truck Leasing, designed with best-in-class specifications that prioritize driver comfort and safety. These trucks are equipped with inward and outward-facing in-cab cameras to ensure a high standard of safety for drivers and others on the road.
The job is crafted for professional truck drivers who appreciate stability and seek to drive for a nationally recognized company with a strong safety record. Alongside comfortable equipment and well-structured routes, Penske supports its drivers with extensive training opportunities and nationwide relocation options, ensuring continuous career development. The working environment fosters professionalism, emphasizing exceptional customer service and long-term relationship building with accounts represented by Penske. With timely payments every Friday and a comprehensive benefits package starting from day one, drivers can expect security and support throughout their career.
Penske's benefits include paid vacation and holidays, generous retirement plans, excellent healthcare coverage covering medical, dental, and vision, disability and life insurance policies, company-provided uniforms and safety footwear. Additional incentives include an employee discount benefit program, a driver referral bonus program with rewards up to $5,000 per referral, safety incentive programs, and a Premier Driver Recognition Program. This robust benefits package ensures the well-being, happiness, and security of associates and their families.
Candidates interested in this role must possess a valid Class A CDL license and be domiciled and licensed within the United States. Applicants need to hold or be able to obtain a non-excepted interstate DOT medical card and have documented recent tractor-trailer driving experience. Penske requires at least 1 year of experience within the last 3 years, or 2 years within the last 5 years, along with a clean driving record with two or fewer moving violations or accidents over the past three years. English language proficiency is mandatory to comply with federal law and effective communication in the role.
The physical demands of this position include the ability to see and hear adequately, move frequently, and lift or handle weights up to 50 lbs regularly, with occasional lifting up to 100 lbs. Safe operation of motor vehicles, entering and exiting vehicles regularly, and maintaining alertness are essential responsibilities, adhering to Department of Transportation regulations and company safety standards. A background investigation and drug screening are also required during the hiring process.
By joining Penske Logistics, drivers become part of a community that values safety, quality, and professional growth. This role is ideal for truck drivers looking to advance their careers with a reliable company recognized for its excellent management, communication, and safety commitment. If you are ready to take your truck-driving career to the next level with a premier employer, Penske invites you to apply and become a valued member of their transportation team.
