This full-time position for local Class A CDL Truck Drivers is based in Avondale, Arizona, under the Penske Logistics branch. The average annual salary for this role is approximately $88,600. Candidates will enjoy the benefit of mostly being home daily, with occasional opportunities for layover routes, offering a balance of work and personal time. Penske provides premium driver incentives and a driver referral bonus program up to $5,000 per referral, underlining its dedication to rewarding top-performing drivers.
Truck drivers for Penske Logistics will be responsible for executing around 75 multi-stop weekly deliveries for a major coffee chain. This involves high-volume loading and unloading using hand dollies and lift gates from temperature-controlled refrigerated trailers, specifically dual zone reefer trailers, emphasizing product quality. The equipment used is late model Penske leased trucks fitted with automatic transmissions and inward and outward-facing in-cab cameras, providing comfort and enhanced safety measures. Drivers are expected to maintain professionalism and courteous interactions while scanning items during unloading and delivery.
Scheduling requires flexibility, with dispatch windows generally between 12:30 PM and 5:00 PM, ensuring that drivers meet delivery deadlines efficiently. Job Requirements
- valid class a cdl license
- minimum of 1 year of professional truck driving experience
- ability to operate heavy vehicles with refrigerated trailer
- capacity to perform physical tasks including loading and unloading
- good communication and interpersonal skills
- ability to work flexible hours within specified dispatch window
- adherence to safety and company policies
