With a robust reputation rooted in empowering customers, employees, and communities, Core-Mark has successfully generated over $23 billion in revenue through its extensive network of distribution centers spread across the United States and Canada. The company is renowned for its commitment to quality, innovation, and leadership in food distribution, offering a wide array of products, programs, and services tailored to meet the evolving needs of its clientele.
Core-Mark operates in a dynamic and fast-paced industry where safety, reliability, and efficiency are paramount. The company fosters a culture of inclusivity, respect, and recognition, creating an environment where employees are valued and rewarded. As a leader in the food distribution sector, Core-Mark prioritizes employee well-being with competitive pay and a comprehensive benefits package that includes day-one health and wellness benefits, a 401K employer matching program, an employee stock purchase plan, education assistance, paid time off, and more. This support reflects the company’s commitment to fostering long-term career growth and development among its workforce.
This Route Driver position is critical to sustaining Core-Mark's operations and supporting America's food distribution system. The role requires a professional and experienced commercial motor vehicle (CMV) driver to manage the safe and timely delivery of food and food-related products to a diverse range of customers. The position offers a competitive salary ranging from $65,000 to $75,000 after training, emphasizing a stable, Monday through Friday schedule with early morning dispatch starts around 3 a.m. It presents an opportunity to perform essential work within a safety-focused and inclusive work environment.
The Route Driver’s core responsibilities include operating tractor-trailers or straight trucks for intrastate and interstate deliveries, including local, over-the-road, shuttle, and overnight routes. The Driver is expected to maintain compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, perform thorough pre- and post-trip inspections, ensure safely loaded cargo, accurately complete paperwork, and communicate professionally with customers, vendors, and co-workers. The role also demands a strong team-oriented mindset, good organizational skills, and the ability to manage physically demanding tasks such as manual lifting and the use of equipment like two-wheelers and lift gates.
Core-Mark's Route Drivers contribute directly to the company’s goals by ensuring the integrity of product delivery and customer satisfaction. This role requires minimum one year or more of CMV driving experience, a valid Class A driver’s license, the ability to layover when required, and a willingness to comply with strict safety and operational guidelines. Moreover, drivers must hold a clean motor vehicle record, pass required drug and background checks, and secure a valid DOT health card. This role offers significant growth opportunities and a respectful work culture where dedication and professionalism are rewarded.
