Known for its strong relationships with a diverse clientele, including independent restaurants, hotels, healthcare facilities, schools, and quick-service eateries, Performance Foodservice not only delivers quality food products but also offers expert guidance to help businesses in the food industry thrive. Their team of sales representatives, chefs, consultants, and other specialists work closely with customers to provide strategic advice aimed at improving operations, menu development, and product selection. This holistic approach ensures that clients receive not just products, but comprehensive solutions to grow and succeed in a competitive market.

As an employer, Performance Foodservice is committed to fostering an inclusive and respectful work environment which values safety, employee recognition, and work-life balance. The company offers competitive pay with drivers earning an average annual salary of $104,000, a $10,000 sign-on bonus, and a standard 5-day workweek from Monday to Friday. This creates an appealing opportunity for commercial drivers seeking stable employment with attractive benefits and opportunities for growth.

The driver is the visible representative of the company to its customers and is responsible for building strong, lasting relationships. The driver must adhere to all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and company safety standards while performing vehicle inspections, loading and unloading freight, and completing accurate paperwork.

In addition to safety and compliance duties, CDL-A Drivers at Performance Foodservice are expected to communicate professionally with customers, vendors, and coworkers. Responsibilities also include conducting damage control checks, verifying deliveries with customers, collecting payments where applicable, securing cargo, and maintaining cleanliness in their work area. The role demands a hands-on approach, with drivers using equipment such as two-wheelers and lift gates to handle freight that varies in weight and size.

Performance Foodservice values drivers who demonstrate integrity, responsibility, and a commitment to high service standards. The company’s supportive culture includes day-one health and wellness benefits, an employee stock purchase plan, 401K employer matching, education assistance, and paid time off. These benefits complement the rewarding aspects of the driver role, providing financial security and avenues for professional development in a safe and inclusive environment.

Overall, joining Performance Foodservice as a CDL-A Driver means becoming part of a respected industry leader that supports your growth, values your contributions, and offers a competitive compensation package.
