The role of Driver at SpartanNash is vital to ensuring the timely and safe delivery of products to customer locations. Based at the Byron Center, Michigan location, this position involves operating commercial trucks safely for product delivery, as well as handling backhaul pickups from vendor locations. Drivers are responsible for unloading and loading products, either by hand or through other means, and conducting routine vehicle inspections to ensure compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) and Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMSCA) regulations. Additionally, drivers may be required to operate equipment like yard switchers, fuel equipment, and wash equipment to move trailers within the company complex.

This career opportunity is classified under Career Framework Job Level T2, emphasizing a moderate degree of supervision and adherence to standard operating procedures, with responsibilities that impact the team as a whole. Candidates must have at least six months or 50,000 miles of verifiable CDL A driving experience and hold a High School Diploma. Drivers are expected to sit for extended periods and climb in and out of tractors and trailers frequently.
