Job Description
Dot Transportation, Inc. (DTI) is the exclusive transportation affiliate of Dot Foods, North America's largest food industry redistributor. Based in Bear, Delaware, DTI operates an extensive fleet of over 1,500 trucks, maintained by a dedicated team of trained mechanics. As a family-owned and operated business, DTI emphasizes a strong family culture, inclusivity, and respect for its employees, especially its best-in-class drivers. The company has a notable history with zero layoffs, showcasing its commitment to employee stability and competitive benefits. DTI's work environment demands adaptability as drivers operate in varying weather conditions and shifts that may include weekdays, weekends, days, and nights.
This role is tailored for professional Class A CDL drivers who love the open road and want to be recognized for their skills while living their dream away from a traditional office setting. The position offers flexibility with multiple schedule options such as traditional schedules (usually dispatched up to 5.5 days per week), 6x3 (six days on, three days off), and 4x4 (four days on, four days off), with opportunities for full-time and part-time employment. Starting pay can reach up to $86,000 annually, depending on experience and the specific job type, offering competitive compensation. As a Customer Delivery Specialist, No-Touch Freight, or Team Driver, the individual will pick up products from various Dot Foods suppliers and deliver them to customers and distribution centers across the region.
DTI prioritizes the safety and well-being of their drivers by providing state-of-the-art trucks and comprehensive training programs. Drivers are compensated for all aspects of their job, emphasizing the company's commitment to fair pay and work-life balance. The role requires physical activity except for no-touch freight jobs, including lifting loads averaging 14 pounds and possibly up to 60 pounds, along with periods of sitting, walking, or standing during work hours. The role also involves adhering strictly to DOT, FMCSA, and other regulatory standards. Drivers play an essential role in managing fuel efficiency, reducing idling time, controlling speed, and supporting the company’s goals to eliminate waste in all operations.
Safety is paramount in this role, with drivers expected to embody a safety-first mindset and promote safe behaviors both for themselves and their coworkers. Additionally, DTI fosters growth within its workforce, offering significant advancement opportunities and a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, 401(k), and profit-sharing. The company embraces equal employment opportunities without discrimination based on protected categories, ensuring a supportive and diverse workplace. Working at DTI means becoming part of a dependable, employee-focused company devoted to both professional and personal growth.
