Job Description
Dot Transportation, Inc. (DTI) is the exclusive transportation affiliate of Dot Foods, North America's largest food industry redistributor. Based in Manchester, Tennessee, DTI operates a vast fleet of over 1,500 trucks, maintained by a dedicated team of trained mechanics to ensure safety and efficiency. As a family-owned and operated company, DTI fosters a strong family culture, making employees feel included, respected, and valued. The company prides itself on a history of zero layoffs, strong job stability, and a commitment to providing competitive and comprehensive benefits. The working environment embraces diversity and equal opportunities, guaranteeing fair treatment for everyone regardless of sex, race, color, religion, national origin, age, sexual orientation, disability, veteran status, or other protected characteristics. DTI emphasizes safety in all aspects of its operations and ensures all employees uphold these standards.
DTI is currently seeking motivated and professional Class A CDL drivers to join their team as Customer Delivery Specialists at their terminal location in Ellenwood, Georgia, serving the Atlanta area. These roles offer starting pay up to $92,000 annually, depending on experience and job type, with schedule options that typically dispatch drivers for 2 to 5 days per trip. Drivers will work in all weather conditions, weekdays, weekends, days, and nights, embracing a lifestyle that values the open road over office constraints. This employment opportunity highlights flexibility and work-life balance, as DTI pays drivers for every part of their job and offers top-of-the-line trucks for safety and comfort.
As a Customer Delivery Specialist, drivers will pick up products from Dot Foods suppliers and transport them to customers and distribution centers. This role may include loading and unloading dry and temperature-controlled goods unless assigned to no-touch freight, where loading and unloading are not required. Drivers will be responsible for following Department of Transportation and Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration regulations, managing their route efficiency by monitoring MPG, fuel purchases, idle time, and speed. They will need to read and understand load paperwork and product descriptions while identifying and eliminating waste wherever possible. Physical activity such as lifting items averaging 14 pounds and up to 60 pounds, as well as sitting, standing, and walking during work hours, is required for all but no-touch freight roles.
DTI values career growth with significant advancement opportunities and supports driver development by providing training resources and tuition assistance for Class A CDL acquisition. Drivers will have access to a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, 401(k), and profit-sharing programs. Emphasizing a safety-first mindset and compliance with all safety programs, drivers contribute to a secure workplace for themselves and coworkers. Joining DTI means becoming part of a reputable and stable company that prioritizes employee well-being, competitiveness, and respect while offering a rewarding career on the open road.
