This role as a driver at Rock River Disposal involves operating a garbage truck safely on designated routes throughout the Rockford area. The driver’s primary responsibility is to collect solid waste efficiently while adhering to all road safety and company policies. Drivers are required to read route sheets carefully, servicing each customer listed or directed by dispatchers to ensure comprehensive and timely waste collection. Routine vehicle inspections before and after routes are essential duties to maintain safety standards, including checks on fluids, safety equipment, tires, and overall vehicle condition.

Interaction with customers should be professional and courteous, as drivers represent the company on the ground and play an essential role in sustaining positive community relations. Additional duties may be assigned as necessary to support operational needs. This position requires a valid Class A or B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL), a clean driving record, and at least one year of local route driving experience.
