Job Description
LKQ Corporation is a leading provider in the automotive aftermarket industry, specializing in high-quality recycled and new auto parts. Established as a trusted name in the sector, LKQ operates across diverse locations offering a broad range of products and services to independent repair shops, dealers, and distributors. The company prides itself on its commitment to environmental sustainability by promoting the reuse and recycling of auto parts, thereby reducing waste and supporting the circular economy. LKQ Corporation values motivated individuals who seek a long-term, rewarding career within a supportive and dynamic work environment. Employees benefit from not only competitive compensation but also numerous growth opportunities tailored towards personal and professional development. The work culture emphasizes safety, teamwork, and innovation, making LKQ an employer of choice within the automotive aftermarket industry.
The Dismantler role at LKQ Corporation plays a critical part in the company's operational success by efficiently and safely removing high-quality auto parts and reusable core components from vehicles. This full-time position operates Monday through Friday, from 8:00am to 4:30pm, and comes with an attractive benefits package including health, dental, and vision insurance, paid time off, parental leave, fertility coverage, and a robust 401k plan. The role is ideal for individuals with hands-on automotive repair experience who are detail-oriented and safety-conscious.
Dismantlers at LKQ are responsible for dismantling vehicles within specific time frames, ensuring all parts are properly labeled, tagged, and checked for quality before being stored into stock. The role demands the maintenance and ownership of necessary tools, reflecting the company’s commitment to quality and efficiency. Employees in this position do not have supervisory responsibilities, allowing them to concentrate fully on mastering their craft and contributing directly to inventory management and customer satisfaction. The position requires working in potentially challenging physical environments, including cramped spaces and exposure to hazardous materials and varying environmental conditions. Physical endurance is necessary, including the ability to lift items up to 75 pounds.
In addition to physical demands, the Dismantler role requires basic computer literacy and the ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. Problem-solving is generally guided by standard procedures and clear instructions from supervisors, with minimal decision-making involved. LKQ supports its workforce through comprehensive training and a positive work environment that fosters teamwork and professional growth. Those joining the LKQ family can expect practical exposure to the automotive industry, a stable work schedule, and an inclusive atmosphere that values each employee’s contributions to the company’s overall mission.
