The role of Assistant Store Manager at DYNE Hospitality Group offers a dynamic and essential position within the company’s café locations. This role reports directly to the General Manager and plays a critical part in ensuring smooth operational support across multiple cafes—specifically supporting up to 30 to 40 locations. With flexibility required for working hours that may start as early as 5 am or stretch until midnight depending on café operating hours, this job requires adaptability and a strong commitment to service excellence.

As an Assistant Store Manager, the incumbent is responsible for supporting café operations through various functions, including training, team development, inventory management, and software rollouts. The position is pivotal during transitions such as covering General Manager vacations or filling in when a café lacks a General Manager, ensuring continuity of leadership and operational integrity. This role demands proficiency in all aspects of café operation, including direct interaction with crew members, customers, and vendors, demonstrating the company’s core values and commitment to delivering unparalleled hospitality.

Key to success in this position is the ability to coach, train, and develop both management teams and crew members, fostering a positive and productive work environment. The Assistant Store Manager must have a comprehensive understanding of brand standards, operational procedures, and must be certified through the company’s Trainer Program and Café Basics to ensure quality and consistency. Moreover, this role requires analytical skills to manage labor, control inventory efficiently using proprietary tools like MyInventory, and make smart decisions that align with operational goals.

Physically, the role demands continuous standing and walking, bending, lifting up to 30 pounds regularly, and occasionally lifting up to 50 pounds, all within a fast-paced café environment. Effective communication skills, supervisory experience, strong mathematical and problem-solving capabilities, and proficiency in software programs like Excel and Word are crucial.   • Two or more years of restaurant experience including progressive supervisory experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent management and supervisory skills
  • Current valid driver’s license and proof of insurance
  • Strong working knowledge of Excel and Word
  • Ability to learn other computer software programs
  • Strong mathematical, analytical and problem solving skills
  • Ability to read, understand and follow instructions

Job Duties

  • Assist in inventory training when necessary
  • Drive brand values and standards through all training and development activities
  • Assist with the coaching, training, and development of management and crew members
  • Assist with hiring and staffing needs while focusing on critically under-staffed cafes
  • Provide support for new software rollouts and training
  • Ensure team member training programs are executed per company standards
  • Interact with crew members, customers, and vendors using company core values
  • Deliver unparalleled hospitality to each customer
  • Be knowledgeable and proficient in each position within the café
  • Successfully complete the Café Basics and Certified Trainer Program
  • Ensure each station operates to Tropical Smoothie Café's standards
  • Train and coach crew members during each shift to uphold brand standards
  • Use tools to accomplish goals, manage labor and control inventory using MyInventory
  • Perform any additional tasks necessary to run the café
