Currently, Sporcle is hiring an outgoing and reliable host to run weekly trivia nights in Portland, Oregon. This part-time role offers a unique opportunity to get paid for leading trivia events and keeping the crowd engaged and energized from start to finish. Hosts will receive comprehensive paid training to ensure they are comfortable and confident in their roles, learning how to manage the event effectively, work with venue staff, and enhance the player experience. The pay ranges from $25.00 to $32.00 per hour, starting at $80 per night, with the chance to take on additional events and bigger gigs based on performance and availability.

The host is expected to bring personality and enthusiasm to each event, communicating clearly and confidently using a microphone, managing the pace of the game, setting up and breaking down equipment, and solving minor technical issues. Sporcle seeks individuals who are dependable, tech-comfortable, quick thinkers, and comfortable engaging with a crowd. While prior experience in hosting, public speaking, teaching, or event coordination is beneficial, it is not required. The role requires punctuality, the ability to transport equipment weighing approximately 35 pounds, and a commitment to completing paid online training prior to hosting.
