Their teams of scientists, engineers, field experts, consultants, and other professionals work together across disciplines and geographies to develop innovative, data-driven solutions that help mitigate risks, enhance resilience, and promote sustainable practices across diverse sectors.
This role is for a Tribal NEPA Project Manager who will play a crucial part in Onterris's efforts to engage and collaborate with Tribal Nations. This is a remote position, highlighting Onterris's flexible and modern approach to work. The Tribal NEPA Project Manager will focus on fostering meaningful partnerships with Tribal communities, enhancing cultural proficiency within the company, and leading the management of environmental projects related to sustainability and conservation. The position requires experience with the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) processes and Fee-to-Trust projects, reflecting a specialization in federal and Tribal regulatory frameworks.
The successful candidate will manage various project responsibilities including coordinating tasks within project teams, updating project statuses using database software, managing electronic documents, and maintaining effective communication with clients to meet their expectations. The role also demands a blend of advanced knowledge, leadership skills, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision, including mentoring team members and reviewing their work.
In terms of compensation, the position offers a competitive annual salary between $95,000 and $120,000, plus an annual bonus based on experience, skills, and geographic location, underscoring Onterris's commitment to attracting top talent. The role involves managing projects and processes relating to environmental impact analysis, coordinating assessments, conducting research, document production, and supporting comprehensive engagement strategies with Tribal partners. The Tribal NEPA Project Manager will lead efforts to ensure transparent communication with Tribal governments and Indigenous communities on diverse projects involving housing, gaming, agriculture, renewable energy, and brownfields.
Additional responsibilities include data gathering, writing and reviewing key sections of NEPA and California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) documents, preparing permit applications, coordinating with consultants, clients, and regulatory agencies, and managing budgets and schedules. The role requires strict confidentiality, adherence to safety protocols, participation in continuous improvement initiatives, and staying current with industry trends through training and workshops. This comprehensive role at Onterris offers an impactful career opportunity for professionals passionate about environmental stewardship and collaborative Tribal engagement.
