Job Description

Bonaventure Senior Living is a distinguished provider of senior care, operating state-of-the-art communities that specialize in assisted living, residential care, memory care, and independent living options. The company is dedicated to enriching the lives of seniors by offering not only comfortable living accommodations but also in-home healthcare services tailored to meet the unique needs of each resident. With a strong commitment to delivering exceptional service and fostering a warm, engaging environment for both residents and staff, Bonaventure Senior Living stands out as an employer of choice in the long-term care industry. The company prioritizes respect, appreciation, and empowerment as cornerstone values that drive its culture and operational approach.

The role of a Traveling Sous Chef / Executive Chef at Bonaventure Senior Living is a dynamic and vital position responsible for overseeing culinary operations across multiple senior living communities. This full-time role involves traveling to various locations to manage kitchen and wait staff, ensure high standards in food quality and presentation, and uphold compliance with health and safety regulations specific to the long-term care environment. The Traveling Sous Chef / Executive Chef takes the lead in event planning for special occasions and collaborates closely with health services to address specific dietary needs of residents, such as mitigating weight loss or accommodating specialized meal requirements.

This leadership position demands a candidate with over three years of experience managing dining services in restaurants, banquets, or long-term care settings along with proficiency in budget management, staff recruitment, and team scheduling. The role is integral to maintaining the quality and consistency of dining experiences that enhance the lifestyle and well-being of residents. Additionally, the chef ensures that all meals are served attractively and appetizingly, fosters excellent customer service, and maintains a clean and organized environment in the kitchen and dining areas.

Bonaventure Senior Living offers a highly competitive salary and a comprehensive benefits package that includes health and dental insurance, a flexible spending account for healthcare and daycare expenses, a 401k matching retirement plan, and paid time off including six paid holidays and up to 10 days of annual paid vacation. Employees benefit from stable work hours with no night shifts, and mileage reimbursement for travel-related expenses, making it an appealing opportunity for culinary professionals with a passion for senior care. This role not only offers professional growth in a supportive, respectful work environment but also the rewarding experience of making a positive impact in the lives of seniors across multiple communities. Candidates must be over the age of 21 and meet all regulatory requirements to join Bonaventure’s dedicated team.
